Affordability

Working hard should be enough.

Working families, seniors, young adults, and small businesses are being squeezed from every direction. We are paying more for food, gas, electricity, housing, healthcare, and property taxes. The challenge isn’t just one bill, it’s all of them at once.

When we address these challenges, families have more breathing room, seniors can enjoy the retirement they worked hard for, small businesses can grow, and young people have a better chance of building a future right here in Connecticut. I will work to ensure that state policies and investments help lower costs for families in our district rather than shifting more of the burden onto local taxpayers.

This is why I support policies that will:

  • Make healthcare more affordable for families, workers, and small businesses

  • Reduce energy costs and protect consumers from unreasonable rate increases

  • Reduce unnecessary transportation costs by modernizing how we fund roads and infrastructure

  • Support practical solutions that make housing more affordable

  • Provide free breakfast and lunch in our schools so every child can focus on learning

  • Help keep family farms viable while expanding access to locally grown food

  • Reduce reliance on property taxes to fund essential local services

  • Support policies that help wages keep pace with the rising cost of living

Because working hard should be enough.
