Every child deserves a high quality education.

Education opens doors. It creates opportunities for our children, strengthens our communities, and helps ensure that everyone, regardless of where they start in life, has the chance to pursue their goals and contribute to our state's future. Whether students choose college, a trade, military service, or direct entry into the workforce, they deserve a strong foundation that prepares them for success.

Strong schools should not depend on whether a town can afford continual property tax increases. Connecticut must be a stronger partner in supporting public education and creating pathways to opportunity for learners of all ages. I will advocate for state investments that help our schools meet students’ needs without increasing the burden on local property taxpayers.

I support policies that will:

  • Fully fund public education, including special education, so that every student receives the support they need and local school districts are not forced to shoulder an unfair financial burden

  • Increase state support for local schools so communities can maintain high-quality education without continually raising property taxes

  • Strengthen vocational and technical education, along with community colleges, apprenticeships, and workforce training programs

  • Expand access to affordable higher education and career training opportunities

Because everyone deserves a quality education.
